Greenhouses
Carbon Dioxide gives fresher flowers and vegetables
CO2 is a very significant element in the photosynthesis of plants. Without CO2 the development of plants would be considerably reduced. In greenhouses without a supply of CO2, the content of this gas can drop to under half of what is normally found in air. With the correct amount of CO2 added at the right time (during periods of light) some plant cultures can increase their yield by 30-50%. Depending on the cultures being grown, supplying CO2 can for example give faster growth, larger and more abundant flowers, better colour, and plants that are bigger and of better quality - factors which are also of benefit to consumers.
