Freight

Our interest in the road freight sector is associated with the wide potential for using liquid Carbon Dioxide (LIC) and Dry Ice as refrigerants.  We have also developed a specialist product for the prevention of NOx emissions - AdBlueTMDry Ice is widely used, providing essential temperature control for food containers in transit.  We supply proprietary containers (FlexiCold) for this application and also supply Dry Ice independently for customers to use in their own container systems (FlexiTemp).

A current exciting development is to replace the diesel powered "fridge" in temperature controlled vehicles with a cryogenic unit running on LIC. The benefits include reduced emissions, lower noise, less maintenance, and extremely rapid "pull-down" of temperature between door openings.  With increasing demands for an "unbroken cold chain" in food delivery, this technology will play a leading role in the future.

These products all make a positive contribution to improving the environmental impact of the road freight industry.  AdBlue directly reduces NOx emissions, and the Carbon Dioxide we supply in liquid form or as Dry Ice is recovered from industrial processes which gives clear benefits over the alternative use of diesel driven refrigeration systems.
