Home Deliveries
In the developing home delivery sector, Dry Ice offers a flexible alternative to the need for expensive, purpose built vehicles, allowing suppliers to optimise their load space by packing chilled and frozen goods in insulated containers on general-purpose vehicles.
Estimates suggest that a staggering £35 billion of retail sales per year will be delivered to the home in 2003. A major part of this will be food products needing cost effective and enviromentally friendly temperature control.
We are involved, as a partner, in the Foresight Vehicle Link Project - e-Flex. This three-year research project, which is being co-ordinated by leading research and technology company PERA, will provide the technical knowledge and vehicle technology to reduce the costs and environmental impacts of the urban delivery systems, whilst also improving their agility and effectiveness.
