HeathrowOur Heathrow depot is principally a Dry Ice distribution facility supplying a local customer base that operates in a wide and varied range of industries. Airline Catering companies use slices and are served up to 7 days per week in Heathrow and Gatwick. Other users include the Special Effects companies for filming at studios, including Pinewood, Twickenham, Black Island, Elstree, Shepperton and Maidstone. Another key customer is the freight forwarding industry, which mainly uses pellets. This sector uses Dry Ice for the shipment of temperature sensitive products including expensive pharmaceutical products. 10kg blocks are supplied to home delivery frozen food companies as well as companies using the Envirotainer range of air cargo temperature control containers for international shipments. While Dry Ice is supplied in innovative modern purpose designed "System 2000" containers, Heathrow depot can also supply small requirements throughout the UK via TNT's overnight service. Orders placed by 3.00pm are delivered by 12 noon the next working day (or earlier if required). The depot operates a policy of regular drivers on the same vehicles and routes as this improves customer service levels and enhances the quality of the fleet. The drivers concentrate on their customer service responsibilites, including assisting customers with stock rotation of Dry Ice containers and minimising stock levels. The Heathrow depot is supplied by a dedicated overnight trunking system from the modern Immingham production facility. The Dry Ice is received into the depot by 5.00am daily for onward delivery or customer collection. The combination of depot and production plant flexibility ensures customer demands are met. Although a dedicated Dry Ice depot, our Heathrow facility is able to supply other products within our portfolio.
